The details
How rip.com handles your information.
What we collect
Account email and (optional) name. Content you type into intakes, checklists, the obituary writer, or a memorial draft. Basic logs about how the product is used so we can fix bugs and prevent abuse.
What we do not collect
We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising networks on rip.com. We do not buy data about you from brokers. We do not share planning or memorial content with providers without an explicit action from you.
Drafts and visibility
Drafts are private by default. Memorials have explicit Public, Unlisted, and Private modes. Obituary drafts written in the guided writer stay in your browser until you choose to copy, download, or attach them to a memorial.
Service providers
We use a small number of vetted vendors for hosting, email delivery, and error monitoring. They are contractually limited to processing data on our behalf.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account. Email privacy@rip.com and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe — usually well under 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle data, we will update this page and notify signed-in users by email. The latest version always lives at /privacy.
